How to remove stolen product photos from Google search results
This asks Google to drop search results that link to a page with your stolen photos. The page on Amazon, Etsy, Shopee, or a standalone site stays up until you file there too. Use the web-search form, the image-search form, or both.
What to expect
Google states an average of about 6 hours for Search webform requests (varies). Removed results may link to a Lumen public copy. The host page stays up until you file there too.
What to prepare
- Original image file (or a working public page for the original).
- Infringing page URLs, one per line (page-level URLs; homepage-only lists get rejected).
- Discovery date.
- Side-by-side comparison (optional but useful if the copy was altered).
If you already use ProvenPix (optional)
Paste the public verify page into “where an authorized copy can be seen”; copy complaint-list URLs one per line.
Which page to open (Google account required)
Fields
- First name / family name
- Company (optional)
- Copyright owner you represent
- Country or region
- What the original work is
- Where an authorized copy of the original can be seen (full public URL. verify page works)
- Infringing page URLs, one per line
Three closing statements (good-faith belief; accuracy under penalty of perjury; understanding a copy may go to Lumen). Type a signature that matches your name. Wording on Google's form wins if it differs slightly.
Common failure modes
- Expecting Google to take down the marketplace listing itself.
- Homepage-only URLs or mashed one-line lists; dead original URL.
- Filing only Images or only Web when it appears in both.
- Ignoring counter-notice restore timing in Google's email.
How ProvenPix helps
- Authorized-copy URL: public verify page (UTC upload time on it).
- Infringing URLs one-per-line from Add to complaint list.
- Image-based monitoring to see whether to file web, images, or both (third-party indexes; can miss).
What to check after you send it
- Confirmation email + reference number; Dashboard per URL.
- Still file on the host marketplace so the page itself can come down.
