How to report stolen product photos on Shopee
Shopee reviews by market. Answer one question first. Taiwan's first formal IP notice and the Brand IP Portal (most markets or brand channel) need very different documents. You submit. Shopee decides removals.
What to expect
Incomplete files get a fill deadline; miss it and the listing may stay. On Brand IP, wait until Copyright is accepted before Case Management moves quickly.
What to prepare
- Original product photo file.
- Full listing URL for the correct host (shopee.tw / shopee.sg / shopee.com.my, etc.).
- Discovery date.
- Side-by-side compares.
If you already use ProvenPix (optional)
Record ID, UTC, SHA-256, public verify page: cite them in Grounds of Complaint or Taiwan supporting docs. No account yet: original file and compares are enough to start.
Which page to open (two-step choice)
1. Are you mainly on Shopee Taiwan, filing a first formal IP notice?
- Yes → Shopee Help Center IP notice webform (linked from the IP notice rules article) → Path B.
- No / other markets, or you already use the brand channel → brandipp.shopee.com → Path A.
2. Anonymous in-app “report listing” buttons are a poor substitute for a formal IP notice.
Path A · Brand IP Portal
- Register Copyright for the same market as the listing; upload certificate; wait for acceptance.
- Case Management → report IP infringement.
- Download the listing Excel; put listing URLs in the required column (often column A from row 2). Shop homepages get rejected. Respect the portal's per-file cap (commonly ~200).
- Fill Grounds of Complaint.
- Additional supporting documents: compact evidence-pack PDF (watch size, often under ~5 MB), screenshots/comparisons as images; cite the public verify page if you have one.
Path B · Taiwan first IP notice
- Use the IP notice webform linked from the help article.
- First report typically needs: rights-holder declaration, complaint form, personal/company ID proof, and rights evidence (original image files are accepted for copyright).
- Practical extras sellers report: pairwise compares; proof the account matches the author.
- Incomplete files get a supplement request. Miss the deadline and the listing may stay.
- Later reports need fewer repeat docs but still need the complaint form and case-specific proof.
Shared tip
URLs must match the same market as the case. Do not drop shopee.sg links into another country's file.
Common failure modes
- Relying on anonymous in-app report buttons.
- Filing Case Management before Copyright is accepted; or missing Taiwan ID/declaration.
- Wrong-market URLs.
- Treating a watermark as a copyright certificate.
How ProvenPix helps
- Listing URLs ready to paste into the Case Management Excel from your complaint list.
- Compact evidence-pack PDF (paid) for Additional supporting documents, with verify URL in the description.
- Draft text for Grounds of Complaint from your record (you edit).
What to check after you send it
- Re-open the listing; watch email/app/portal.
- Copied photos → copyright materials; trademark/counterfeit → other paths.
- If the seller disputes, Shopee may share your contact details under the form terms you accepted. Read those terms before you submit.
